easy street haunt

I saw this movie the other day. Overall I give it 3 out of 5 stars. It’s an ok film to stream for free when that option becomes available, but I would save your money and skip seeing it in the theater. Maybe the film was weak because it tried to both a slasher and a romcom.

One thing I liked about the film was the slasher used a crossbow- a nice twist on Cupid. The pacing of the film was pretty good too.

But as far as slasher films go, there weren’t any jumps or build up to the kills. There was one moment when the slasher was hiding in the closet (it was in the trailer) and the protagonist opens up the door to find him. In a way it was a funny, anti-climatic jump scare, but that’s all we get. A couple of the kills were creative, but overall the film was not scary. .

Also, the killer targeted couples, but no motivation was given except- “I feel like it”. It might have been interesting to have an incel be the killer. Then you’d get some motivation and discussion going. At any rate, check it out if you’re bored.
